Save Seeds, Share Seeds, Grow More! 🌱
Saving seeds is one of the simplest ways to become a little more connected to your garden—and it’s easier than you might think! When we save seeds, we’re not just preparing for next year’s garden; we’re helping preserve the plants we love, keeping seeds in our local community, and sharing the knowledge and traditions that make gardening so rewarding. Some seeds are incredibly easy to save, while others take a little more time and care, but there’s a place to start for every gardener. Whether you’re saving your first handful of tomato seeds or becoming a seasoned seed saver, we’re here to help you learn as you grow. Explore our guides below for tips and step-by-step instructions on saving seeds from some of our favourite garden plants, and check back often—we’ll keep adding more!
Ready to give it a try? Start with one plant, save a few seeds, and see where it takes you. 🌻
Our seeds are generously donated from community members' private collections and local seed companies like Salt Spring Seeds and West Coast Seeds.
If you have extra seeds you would like to donate (less than 3 yrs old, named varieties) please email us at: claytonseedlibrary@gmail.com
